Alex Bell

Councillor

Alex is new to the Parish council in 2021 and a recent mover to North Yorkshire with his partner Heather. He works for a global scientific consulting company as a Toxicologist. After moving to Cononley, Alex was keen to integrate and support village life by getting involved with the community and joining the Parish council was an ideal way to do it. He has an interest in looking after the environment locally as where he lived before he helped organise and conduct clean ups of a 2 mile section of Rochdale Canal with the help of local volunteers and the Canal and River Trust folk. He helps maintain the Soroptimist sponsored garden at A&E at Airedale hospital with his partner and other volunteers. After joining the council Alex has become a member of the Playing Fields Park Committee helping to look after one of Cononley's finest assets and was involved with organising the 2021 Cononley Gala.  He came to our Cononley is back meeting at the village hall at the end of July 2021 and was heartened by the lovely reception to joining the village from other locals. Alex is still learning the ways of Parish council life and is looking forwards to contributing more to maintaining and evolving village life in the parish of Cononley.  If you would like to get in touch with Alex you can contact him by email at cllr.bell.cononley@gmail.com .
