Cononley Community Speed Watch  commenced in 2016, formed in conjunction with North Yorkshire Police.

The aim of the group is to make drivers aware of the speed they are travelling through Cononley. The group being out on a regular basis serves to remind them of the speed limit too, ultimately hoping to make Cononley a safer place for pedestrians and all road users.

In 2024 the group held 87 speed watch deployments and monitored 7,670 vehicles. Most weeks there will be at least one speed watch. We are always looking for more volunteers, if you would like to know more please contact Atholl (details below).
